Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor (RTD), Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before testing or replacing components.
- Access sensor: Locate the oven temperature sensor inside the cavity (rear wall). Remove the two screws and gently pull the sensor forward to expose the connector.
- Test resistance: With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance across the sensor terminals. At room temperature it should be ~1050–1100 Ω. If the meter shows OL (open) or very high resistance, the sensor is faulty.
- Inspect harness: If the sensor tests good, trace the harness through the rear of the range to the control board. Look for cuts, burns, or disconnected plugs. Reseat the connector at the control board.
- Replace sensor: If open, install a new OEM oven temperature sensor compatible with your Ikea model. Route the wires away from hot surfaces and secure with existing clips.
