Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty oven temperature sensor, Defective control board temperature monitoring circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool completely before servicing. Surfaces may be extremely hot after self-clean.
- Check vents: Ensure the front and rear ventilation slots are not blocked by cabinetry, foil, or objects. Ikea built-in installations must follow specified clearances.
- Listen for cooling fan: During a high-temp bake or self-clean, a cooling fan should run. If it does not, access the fan from the rear or top (depending on model) and test for free rotation and continuity with a multimeter.
- Test fan voltage: With power ON and a heating cycle started (use extreme caution), measure voltage at the fan connector. If voltage is present but the fan does not run, replace the fan motor. If no voltage, suspect the control board.
- Check sensor: Verify the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature (~1050–1100 Ω). Replace if out of range.
