Gas Burner Ignition Failure
Gas cooktop burner will not ignite, clicking sound may be present or absent

Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Misaligned burner cap, Faulty spark igniter electrode, Failed spark module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off all burner knobs. If you smell gas, ventilate the area immediately and do not use open flames or electrical switches.
- Check burner cap: Ensure the burner cap is properly seated on the base. Misalignment prevents gas from reaching the igniter.
- Clean burner: Remove the cap and burner head. Use a soft brush or toothpick to clear debris from the gas ports and the small ignition port near the electrode. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Dry moisture: If the burner was recently cleaned, moisture may prevent ignition. Allow components to dry completely or use a hair dryer on low (unplugged cooktop if possible).
- Inspect igniter: Check the ceramic igniter for cracks and ensure the tip is close (2–4 mm) to the burner. Replace the igniter if cracked or loose.
- No clicking on any burner: If none of the burners click, the spark module or power supply may have failed and should be tested and replaced.
