Electric oven does not heat in broil, but bake works

Safety: Turn off power before accessing the broil element.

• Inspect broil element: Look at the top of the oven cavity for visible damage to the broil element.
• Continuity test: Access the rear of the range, disconnect broil element wires, and test for continuity. Replace if open.
• Check selector: Rotate the function knob through all positions to ensure broil engages. If the knob feels loose or skips, the selector switch may be faulty.
• Control board: If the element and wiring are good, the broil relay on the EOC may have failed and require board replacement.
