Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor on induction coil, Damaged wiring harness from coil to control board, Poor connector contact at induction module, Failed sensor input on induction control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker. Wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge before touching internal components.
- Basic reset: After power-off and cool-down, restore power and test the affected zone. If E6 returns, internal checks are needed.
- Access underside: Remove the cooktop from the counter (if required by design) and remove the bottom cover to expose the induction coils and boards.
- Inspect sensor wiring: Each coil typically has a small temperature sensor attached with two thin wires. Check for broken leads, burned insulation, or loose plugs at the board.
- Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature (often 50–100 kΩ depending on design; refer to Ilve data if available). An open or 0 Ω reading indicates failure.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the NTC sensor or the entire coil assembly if the sensor is integrated. If the sensor tests good but E6 persists, the induction control board may be defective and should be replaced by a professional.
