Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and main board, Moisture or liquid ingress on touch glass, Failed touch control PCB, Faulty main control board communication circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the cooktop from the counter or opening any panels.

  • Dry the surface: If the error appeared after a spill or cleaning, wipe the glass thoroughly and allow it to dry for several hours. Moisture can interfere with capacitive touch.
  • Power cycle: After drying, restore power and test. If E7 remains, proceed to internal inspection.
  • Access control area: Remove the cooktop from the counter (if required) and remove the mounting screws to lift the glass. Carefully separate the glass from the chassis to expose the touch PCB.
  • Check ribbon cables: Ensure the flat ribbon cable between the touch panel and main control board is fully seated and not damaged. Reseat both ends.
  • Inspect for corrosion: Look for signs of liquid damage on the touch PCB and connectors. Clean light corrosion with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
  • Replace board: If connections are good but E7 persists, replace the touch control PCB. If that does not resolve it, the main control board may also need replacement.
