Possible Causes
Failed oven temperature sensor reading low resistance, Stuck relay on control board keeping element on, Poor airflow around oven cavity, Faulty high-limit thermostat not opening
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely before working on it.
- Check door seal: Inspect the oven door gasket for damage or gaps that could affect temperature sensing. Replace if hardened or torn.
- Test sensor: Measure the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to spec. Replace if out of range.
- Observe heating behavior: With a thermometer inside, run the oven and see if it overshoots the set temperature significantly before F2 appears. This suggests a stuck relay or control issue.
- Control board inspection: Remove the back panel and inspect the EOC for burned relay contacts or heat damage. If a relay is welded closed, the board must be replaced.
- Ventilation: Ensure vents above the door and behind the range are not blocked by cabinetry or foil.
