Possible Causes
Door lock motor not reaching full position, Bent lock latch or linkage, Faulty lock position switch, Control board not sensing lock feedback
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool fully before attempting to release the lock.
- Power reset: After cooling, turn power off for 5 minutes, then back on. Sometimes the lock will cycle and release.
- Manual release: Consult your Ilve manual for the location of the manual door lock release (often accessible from the top or rear). Use a tool to gently move the release lever.
- Inspect lock assembly: Once the door is open and power is off, access the lock motor and linkage. Look for bent parts or obstructions.
- Switch test: Test the lock position switches for continuity in locked and unlocked positions. Replace the lock assembly if switches are faulty.
- Control board: If the lock works mechanically but F9 persists, the EOC may not be reading the switch correctly and may need replacement.
