Possible Causes
Incorrectly adjusted air shutter, Debris in burner venturi, Wrong gas type or orifice (LPG vs natural gas), Excessive gas pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off gas and power before adjusting air shutters. Work in a well-ventilated area.
- Visual inspection: Remove burner caps and heads. Check for debris, spider webs, or grease in the venturi openings and clean thoroughly.
- Check gas type: Confirm the range is configured for your gas type (natural gas or LPG) and that the correct Ilve conversion kit/orifices are installed.
- Adjust air shutter: Locate the air shutter on the burner tube (under the cooktop). Loosen the screw and adjust the opening: more air for yellow flames, less air if flames are lifting or noisy. Retighten screw and test.
- Professional check: If flames remain unstable, have a gas technician verify supply pressure and orifice sizing.
