Possible Causes

Protective oils on elements, Residual packaging materials left inside, Dust on heating components, New insulation curing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Ensure good ventilation by opening windows or using an exhaust hood.

  • Remove all packaging: Check inside the oven and storage drawer for any plastic, foam, or cardboard.
  • Initial burn-in: Run the oven empty at a high temperature (e.g., 200–220°C / 400–430°F) for 30–60 minutes as recommended by Ilve, then allow to cool.
  • Monitor: Some odor is normal on first use. If smoke or smell persists after several uses, inspect for spills or residue on elements and clean according to the manual.
