Oven temperature is inaccurate, food undercooked or overcooked
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Aging oven temperature sensor, Control board calibration offset, Poor oven door seal causing heat loss, Incorrect rack position or loading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Use heat-resistant gloves when placing or removing thermometers.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an oven-safe thermometer in the center of the oven and preheat to a known temperature (e.g., 180°C / 350°F). Compare displayed vs actual temperature.
- Door gasket: Inspect the door seal for gaps or damage. Replace if compressed or torn.
- Sensor test: If the temperature is consistently off by more than 15–20°C, test the sensor resistance and replace if out of spec.
- Control calibration: Many Ilve models allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu. Adjust by the measured difference according to the user manual.
