Possible Causes
Open radiant element coil, Burned thermal limiter on element, Loose wiring to element terminals, Failed infinite switch or power relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before lifting the cooktop or accessing elements.
- Indicator check: If the hot surface light works but the zone does not heat, the element or its limiter is suspect.
- Access element: Remove the cooktop from the counter and lift the glass to expose the radiant elements.
- Continuity test: Test the suspect element and its limiter for continuity. Replace the element assembly if open.
- Switch/relay: If the element is good, test the infinite switch (on knob models) or the power relay on the control board (on touch models) for proper output.
