Possible Causes
Open-circuit fan oven element, Loose connection at fan element terminals, Overheated wiring harness to fan element, Failed fan element thermal fuse (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the appliance from the mains supply before any work. Allow the oven to cool completely.
Steps:
- 1. Remove oven back panel (inside cavity): Take out shelves and side runners. Unscrew the inner rear cover to expose the circular fan oven element around the fan.
- 2. Visual inspection: Check the ring element for breaks, bulges, or burn marks. Any damage means replacement.
- 3. Test the element: With power still disconnected, remove the rear outer cover of the cooker to access the element terminals. Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the element; an open circuit indicates failure.
- 4. Check connectors: Ensure the spade connectors are tight and not heat-damaged. Replace any discoloured or loose connectors and trim back burnt wire before fitting new terminals.
- 5. Replace the fan element: Unscrew the mounting screws from inside the cavity, pull the element forward, swap with a genuine or compatible Indesit fan oven element, and reconnect wires in the same positions.
- 6. Reassemble and test: Refit covers, restore power, and test at 180–200°C. Confirm that the fan runs and the oven heats without showing F02.
