Possible Causes

Failed oven temperature sensor (NTC probe), Broken sensor wiring harness, Poor connection at control board sensor connector, Shorted sensor due to moisture ingress

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker. The sensor circuit is low voltage but is connected to mains-powered electronics.

Steps:

  • 1. Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the small metal probe (usually at the rear upper area). This is the oven temperature sensor.
  • 2. Access wiring: Remove the rear outer panel of the cooker to access the sensor connector. On some Indesit models, the sensor plugs directly into the main control board.
  • 3. Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor plug and measure resistance across the sensor leads. Typical values are around 1–1.1 kΩ at 20°C (check Indesit service data for your exact model). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or OL (open) indicates a faulty sensor.
  • 4. Inspect harness and connector: Look for pinched, cut, or burnt wires. Ensure the connector pins are clean and not corroded. Reseat the connector firmly on the control board.
  • 5. Replace sensor if faulty: Unscrew the sensor from inside the cavity, gently pull it through, feed the new sensor through the same hole, and reconnect to the harness or board.
  • 6. Clear error: Restore power and run a preheat cycle. The F03 code should clear automatically if the sensor signal is correct.
