Possible Causes
Open-circuit induction coil, Faulty pan detection sensor, Loose coil wiring, Incompatible cookware (non-magnetic base)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains before accessing hob internals.
Steps:
- 1. Check cookware: Ensure you are using flat-bottomed, ferromagnetic pans (a magnet should stick firmly to the base). Try a different pan to rule out compatibility.
- 2. Reset hob: Turn off the hob at the mains for 5–10 minutes, then retry.
- 3. Access induction coil: Remove the hob top to expose the induction coils. For the affected zone, inspect the coil and its wiring for breaks or burnt connectors.
- 4. Test coil continuity: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the coil terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed coil that must be replaced.
- 5. Check sensor connections: Some Indesit modules use separate pan-detection sensors; ensure all small connectors are seated correctly on the power board.
