Gas burner flame on Indesit cooktop is yellow, uneven, or lifts off the burner

Safety: Turn off the burner and allow it to cool. Ensure good ventilation when working around gas.

Steps:

• 1. Clean burner parts: Remove burner caps and heads. Soak in warm soapy water, then clear each port with a soft brush or wooden toothpick (never metal wire that can enlarge ports).
• 2. Refit correctly: Ensure the burner head sits flat and the cap is correctly centred. Misalignment causes uneven flames.
• 3. Check gas jets: If the appliance was converted between natural gas and LPG, verify that the correct Indesit gas injectors are fitted for your gas type.
• 4. Inspect air inlets: Under the hob, ensure air inlets and any adjustable air shutters are not blocked by insulation or debris.
• 5. Professional adjustment: If flames remain yellow or noisy, have a gas-safe technician check pressure and adjust air/gas mixture.
