Possible Causes
Failed timer relay contacts, Internal timer electronics fault, Loose wiring to timer, Incorrect timer mode (set to auto)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains before accessing the timer module.
Steps:
- 1. Check timer mode: Ensure the timer is set to manual or continuous cooking mode. On many Indesit models, an incorrectly set auto timer will block oven operation.
- 2. Reset timer: Set the correct time of day and cancel any programmed start/stop times.
- 3. Access timer: Remove the control panel to expose the electronic timer/programmer. Check for loose connectors or burnt tracks.
- 4. Bypass test (advanced): On some models, the oven supply passes through the timer relay. A technician can temporarily bridge the relay contacts to confirm a faulty timer.
- 5. Replace timer: If the timer display is dead or relays do not click, replace the timer module with the correct Indesit part.
