Possible Causes

Failed bake or broil element, Open L2 leg at terminal block, Loose wire at element, Weak relay on EOC

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before inspecting wiring or elements.

  • Check both elements: Confirm that both bake and broil elements glow during preheat (many Insignia models use both). If one does not, test and replace that element.
  • Inspect terminal block: Remove the rear cover and inspect the power terminal block for burned or loose connections. Tighten or replace as needed.
  • Verify supply voltage: Use a multimeter to confirm 240 VAC across L1 and L2 at the terminal block. If only 120 VAC is present, a breaker or house wiring issue exists and must be corrected.
  • Check EOC output: If elements and power are good, the EOC may not be energizing both elements properly and may need replacement.
