Possible Causes
Incompatible cookware on induction zone, Pan too small or not centered, Faulty pan detection sensor on power board, Loose coil sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the burner before changing cookware. Disconnect power at the breaker before opening the cooktop.
- Check cookware: For Insignia induction cooktops, ensure you are using ferromagnetic cookware (a magnet should stick to the bottom). Use a flat-bottomed pan that fully covers the marked cooking zone.
- Center the pan: Place the pan in the center of the zone and restart the burner. If E1 clears, the issue was pan placement.
- Test other pans/zones: Try a different compatible pan and test other zones. If only one zone shows E1 with good cookware, the coil sensor or power board for that zone may be faulty.
- Inspect wiring (advanced): With power OFF, remove the cooktop from the counter and inspect the wiring from the affected coil to the power board. Reseat connectors and look for damage.
- Replace power board: If wiring is intact and E1 persists on a single zone, replace the corresponding power module.
