Faulty main control board, Corrupted firmware, Loose inter-board harness, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing.
- Power reset: Turn the breaker OFF for 10 minutes, then back ON. If E6 clears, monitor for recurrence.
- Inspect harnesses: Remove the cooktop and check all harnesses between the user interface board and power board. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Board replacement: If E6 persists, replace the main power/control board assembly. On some Insignia models, the UI and power board are replaced together as a kit.
