Possible Causes

Open oven temperature sensor (RTD), Broken sensor harness, Loose sensor connector at EOC, Corroded sensor terminals

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the range at the breaker before accessing internal wiring.

  • Access the sensor: Inside the oven, locate the temperature sensor probe on the rear wall. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to expose the connector.
  • Check connections: Inspect the plug for corrosion or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature (~77°F/25°C), it should be around 1080–1100 Ω. If the reading is infinite (open) or far off spec, replace the sensor.
  • Check harness to EOC: If the sensor tests good, remove the rear panel and trace the sensor wires to the EOC. Look for breaks, burns, or loose connectors. Repair or replace the harness as needed.
  • Replace EOC if needed: If sensor and wiring are good but F3 persists, the EOC input circuit may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
