Possible Causes
Failed EOC relay circuit, Internal control board fault, Power surge damage, Loose neutral or line connection at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the breaker and verify the range is completely de-energized before accessing the control area.
- Power cycle: Turn the breaker OFF for 5–10 minutes, then back ON. If F5 clears and does not return, it may have been a transient watchdog error.
- Inspect wiring to EOC: Remove the rear console cover and check all connectors to the EOC. Ensure L1, L2, and neutral connections are tight and not discolored or burned.
- Check for heat damage: Look for darkened areas on the EOC board, cracked solder joints, or melted plastic around relays. Any such damage indicates the board should be replaced.
- Self-clean caution: If F5 occurred during or after self-clean, avoid using self-clean again until the control is replaced; excessive heat may have damaged the board.
- Replace EOC: If F5 returns immediately after power-up and wiring is sound, replace the EOC. Transfer wires one at a time to avoid miswiring.
