Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Misaligned burner cap, Weak or cracked igniter electrode, Faulty spark module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn all burner knobs OFF. If you smell gas, ventilate the area and do not use open flames or operate electrical switches. Shut off gas at the supply valve and contact a professional if the smell persists.
- Check burner cap and head: Ensure the burner cap is properly seated on the burner head. Misalignment can prevent ignition.
- Clean burner ports: Remove the burner cap and head. Use a soft brush or a wooden toothpick to clear clogged ports. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Inspect igniter: Check the ceramic igniter electrode near the burner for cracks or heavy buildup. Clean gently with a soft brush. If cracked or badly worn, replace the igniter for that burner.
- Test other burners: If none of the burners ignite and there is no clicking, the spark module may be faulty and should be replaced.
