Possible Causes
Open bake element, Open broil element, Failed relay on EOC, Loose wiring at element terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before inspecting elements or wiring.
- Check bake element: Inspect the lower bake element inside the oven for blisters, cracks, or breaks. If damaged, remove mounting screws, pull forward, disconnect wires, and replace with an Insignia-compatible bake element.
- Check broil element: Inspect the upper broil element similarly. Replace if visibly damaged or open.
- Test continuity: With elements disconnected, use a multimeter to check for continuity. Replace any open element.
- Inspect wiring and EOC: If both elements test good, remove the rear panel and check wiring from the EOC to the elements. Look for burned connectors. If wiring is good, the EOC relay may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
