Possible Causes
Overheated lock motor, Jammed lock mechanism, Failed lock position switch, EOC not sending unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely. Do not force the door open.
- Wait for cool-down: Some locks will not release until the oven is below a certain temperature. After full cool-down, restore power and see if the lock releases.
- Manual release: Access the manual lock release lever (if present) from the top or rear of the range and gently move it to unlock the door.
- Inspect lock assembly: With power OFF and rear panel removed, check the lock motor and linkage for binding. Lubricate lightly with high-temperature-safe lubricant if stiff.
- Replace lock assembly: If the motor is seized or the switch is defective, replace the door lock motor assembly.
