Possible Causes
Failed bake igniter (glow bar or spark), No gas to oven safety valve, Faulty oven safety valve, Broken wire between igniter and control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and gas supply before accessing the oven burner area. If you smell gas, ventilate and contact a professional.
- Observe igniter: Set oven to bake and look through the bottom panel (if visible) for the igniter. If it does not glow or spark within 30–60 seconds, the igniter may be faulty.
- Test igniter: With power OFF, access the igniter and test for continuity. Replace if open or if it glows weakly (dull orange) but does not light the burner.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the igniter to the oven safety valve and EOC for breaks or burns.
- Safety valve check: If the igniter draws proper current but the burner does not light, the oven safety valve may be defective and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
