Possible Causes
Shorted heating element, Pinched or bare wire touching chassis, Failed power board, Incorrect breaker size or shared circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Leave the breaker OFF until the fault is identified. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker.
- Isolate the circuit: Turn off all burners and oven functions. Turn the breaker ON, then turn on one function at a time to see which causes the trip.
- Inspect suspect component: For the function that trips the breaker, inspect the associated element, wiring, and control. Look for burned spots, melted insulation, or wires touching metal.
- Test elements: Disconnect and test the suspect element for continuity to ground. Replace any element that is shorted to chassis.
- Check wiring harness: Repair or replace any damaged wiring. If no obvious short is found, the power board or EOC may be internally shorted and should be replaced.
