Possible Causes

Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Melted sensor harness insulation, Failed sensor input on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing.

  • Visual inspection: Remove the rear panel and inspect the sensor wiring where it passes through the oven back. Look for melted insulation or wires touching metal.
  • Test sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. A shorted sensor will read very low resistance (near 0 ohms). Replace if readings are abnormal.
  • Check harness: If the sensor tests good, inspect the harness from the sensor to the control board for pinched or bare wires. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
  • Replace control if needed: If both sensor and harness are good but F1-4 remains, the electronic oven control board sensor circuit is likely shorted internally and must be replaced.
