Possible Causes
Shorted broil element, Stuck broil relay on control board, Faulty temperature sensor, Poor cooling of control area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and let the oven cool fully.
- Visual check of broil element: Inspect the broil element at the top of the oven for blisters, cracks, or burn-through. Replace if damaged.
- Sensor test: Test the oven temperature sensor as described for other F2 codes. Replace if out of specification.
- Control cooling: Ensure the rear of the range and control area vents are not blocked. Overheating of the control can trigger F2-2.
- Control board replacement: If the broil element and sensor are good but the oven overheats or F2-2 recurs, the broil relay on the control board may be stuck. Replace the electronic oven control.
