Possible Causes
Open upper oven sensor, Loose upper sensor connector, Broken upper oven sensor harness, Failed upper sensor circuit on control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker.
- Identify upper sensor: On double-oven JennAir ranges, locate the sensor probe in the upper cavity.
- Check connection: Remove the mounting screws, gently pull the sensor forward, and verify the connector is tight. Inspect for broken wires.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and check resistance at room temperature (around 1050–1100 ohms). Replace if open or far out of range.
- Replace sensor: Install a new JennAir-compatible upper oven sensor if needed, routing wires properly and securing with screws.
- Control board: If the sensor and wiring are good, the upper oven sensor circuit on the control board may be defective and require replacement.
