Possible Causes

Shorted sensor probe, Sensor wires shorted together, Melted harness insulation, Control board sensor input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker.

  • Inspect sensor and harness: Remove the rear panel and inspect the sensor wiring where it enters the oven cavity. Look for melted or pinched wires.
  • Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. A shorted sensor will read very low resistance (near 0 ohms). Replace if shorted.
  • Repair wiring: If the harness is shorted, cut out damaged sections and splice with high-temperature wire and proper connectors, or replace the harness.
  • Control board: If sensor and wiring are good, the control board sensor circuit may be shorted and require replacement.
