Possible Causes
Failed door lock switch, Misaligned door latch, Broken latch actuator, Loose wiring to lock assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working on the door lock mechanism.
- Cancel self-clean: If in self-clean, press Cancel and wait for the oven to cool. The door may unlock automatically once cool.
- Check door alignment: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Bent hinges or a warped door can prevent the latch from engaging the switch.
- Access lock assembly: Remove the rear panel at the top of the range to access the door lock motor and switches.
- Inspect wiring and switch: Check connectors for looseness or corrosion. Gently move the latch while listening for the switch click. If the switch does not actuate or tests open with a meter when engaged, replace the lock assembly or switch.
- Replace lock assembly: Remove mounting screws, disconnect wiring, install the new JennAir-compatible door lock assembly, and reconnect wires one at a time.
