Possible Causes
Contaminated or stuck touchpad key, Moisture under glass panel, Damaged keypad membrane, Shorted keypad ribbon
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before removing the control panel.
- Clean panel surface: Wipe the touch panel with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
- Dry out moisture: If the error followed heavy boiling or steam, leave power off for several hours to allow moisture to evaporate from behind the panel.
- Check for physical damage: Look for cracks or delamination of the touch panel. If present, the keypad must be replaced.
- Ribbon inspection: Remove the back cover, disconnect the keypad ribbon from the control, inspect for corrosion or burns, and reseat firmly.
- Replace keypad: If F7-1 persists, replace the JennAir-compatible touchpad or glass control panel assembly.
