Possible Causes
Failed oven cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling vents, Faulty fan speed sensor (if equipped), Control board fan driver failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before accessing internal components.
- Check airflow: Ensure the range is installed with proper clearance and that rear and top vents are not blocked by cabinets or foil.
- Inspect fan: Remove the rear panel to access the cooling fan. Check for obstructions, grease buildup, or a seized fan blade. Clean and free the blade if obstructed.
- Test fan operation: With power restored and caution, start a bake cycle and listen for the fan. If it hums but does not spin, or does not run at all, the fan motor is likely bad and should be replaced.
- Replace fan motor: Disconnect power, remove mounting screws, disconnect wiring, and install a new JennAir-compatible cooling fan motor.
- Control board: If the fan is good but F8-1 persists, the control board may not be sensing fan speed correctly and may require replacement.
