Possible Causes
Overheated or jammed door lock motor, Warped latch from high heat, Failed lock switch not signaling unlock, Control not sending unlock command
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the oven to cool completely before forcing the door.
- Wait additional time: Some models delay unlocking until the oven is well below 400°F. Wait at least 60–90 minutes.
- Power reset: Turn off power at the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore. Sometimes the lock will reset and unlock.
- Manual release: Access the manual door lock release lever (if provided) through the top or rear panel.
- Inspect lock assembly: If the problem recurs, the lock motor or latch may be damaged and should be replaced with a JennAir-compatible lock assembly.
