How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the oven if you suspect plastic or non-food items are burning. Ventilate the area.
- Inspect cavity: After cooling, check for any plastic, tape, or packing materials left on racks, elements, or walls. Remove completely.
- Clean thoroughly: Wipe interior surfaces with warm soapy water and dry. Remove any melted residue carefully.
- Burn-in cycle: Run an empty bake cycle at 400–450°F for 30–60 minutes to burn off remaining odors.
- Use only oven-safe items: Avoid using non-oven-safe liners, plastics, or cookware that can off-gas at high temperatures.
