JennAir
Oven Light Circuit Failure
JennAir oven light will not turn on; bulb replacement does not help (no error code)
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Failed light socket, Broken door switch, Faulty light relay on control board, Open wiring to light assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working on the light circuit.
- Confirm bulb: Ensure you are using the correct type and wattage of oven-rated bulb recommended by JennAir.
- Check socket: Inspect the light socket for corrosion or burn marks. Test for power at the socket when the light should be on (requires live-voltage testing by a qualified person).
- Door switch: Press the door switch repeatedly; if the oven light flickers or never comes on, the switch may be faulty. Replace the door switch if it does not change state with a meter.
- Replace socket or switch: Install a new JennAir-compatible light socket or door switch as indicated by testing.
- Control board: If the socket and switch are good but the control never sends power, the light relay on the control board may have failed.
