Electric oven will not broil, bake works normally

Safety first: Shut off power at the breaker.

• Inspect broil element:
  • Look at the top element for visible damage or breaks.
• Test element:
  • Remove mounting screws and pull element forward.
  • Disconnect wires and measure resistance (typically 10–30 Ω).
  • Replace the broil element if open.
• Check wiring:
  • Inspect connectors and wires for heat damage.
• Control board:
  • If element and wiring are good but no power is supplied in broil mode, replace the electronic oven control (EOC).
