Electric oven will not heat on bake, broil may still work

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching any internal parts.

• Visual inspection:
  • Look at the bake element at the bottom of the oven for blisters, cracks, or burn spots.
• Test element:
  • Remove the rear panel or unscrew the element from inside the oven.
  • Disconnect wires and measure resistance; typical values are 15–40 Ω.
  • If open, replace the bake element.
• Check connections:
  • Inspect element terminals and wiring for burns or looseness.
  • Repair or replace damaged wires and fully seat connectors.
• Control board:
  • If element and wiring are good but no voltage is sent to the element during bake, the electronic oven control (EOC) bake relay may be faulty and require replacement.
