Possible Causes
Open bake element, Burnt element terminals, Loose wiring at element, Failed bake relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching any internal parts.
- Visual inspection:
- Look at the bake element at the bottom of the oven for blisters, cracks, or burn spots.
- Test element:
- Remove the rear panel or unscrew the element from inside the oven.
- Disconnect wires and measure resistance; typical values are 15–40 Ω.
- If open, replace the bake element.
- Check connections:
- Inspect element terminals and wiring for burns or looseness.
- Repair or replace damaged wires and fully seat connectors.
- Control board:
- If element and wiring are good but no voltage is sent to the element during bake, the electronic oven control (EOC) bake relay may be faulty and require replacement.
