Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Pinched sensor wiring, Moisture in sensor connector, Failed control board reading sensor as short
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker.
- Test sensor:
- Remove and measure resistance of the oven temperature sensor at room temperature.
- A very low resistance or near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor; replace the oven temperature sensor.
- Inspect wiring:
- Look for pinched or melted sensor wires touching metal.
- Repair insulation and reroute away from hot or sharp areas.
- Control board:
- If sensor and wiring are good, the EOC may be misinterpreting the sensor signal.
- Replace the electronic oven control (EOC) if F4 persists.
