Gas surface burner will not ignite, no clicking or spark at that burner

Safety first: Turn off gas supply and disconnect power before servicing. Avoid open flames while working on gas components.

• Basic cleaning:
  • Ensure burner cap is properly seated.
  • Clean food debris from around the electrode tip and burner ports.
• Check spark:
  • Restore power (gas can remain off for this test).
  • Turn the knob to Lite and observe if any spark appears at the electrode.
  • If other burners spark but this one does not, suspect the electrode or its wiring.
• Inspect electrode and wire:
  • Disconnect power again.
  • Lift the burner head and inspect the electrode for cracks or heavy buildup.
  • Check the ignition wire from electrode to spark module for damage or loose connections.
• Replace electrode:
  • Install a new surface burner spark electrode if cracked or heavily corroded.
• Further diagnosis:
  • If electrode and wire are good but no spark, the spark module may have a failed channel and should be replaced.
