Oven light will not turn on, but oven heats normally

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before replacing the bulb or socket.

• Replace bulb:
  • Remove the glass light cover inside the oven (usually by turning counterclockwise).
  • Replace with the correct appliance oven bulb (often 40W or as specified).
• Test light function:
  • Restore power and press the light switch.
  • If still no light, proceed.
• Inspect socket and wiring:
  • With power off, inspect the socket for burns or corrosion.
  • Check wiring connections at the socket and control board.
• Replace faulty parts:
  • Replace the oven light socket if damaged.
  • If socket and wiring are good, the light switch or control board light relay may be faulty and require replacement.
