Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the control panel.

Knob inspection: Remove the control knob and check for signs of melting or heat damage.
Switch access: Remove the front panel to access the infinite switch for the affected zone.
Continuity test: Using the wiring diagram, test continuity between switch terminals at various knob positions. Replace the infinite switch if readings are inconsistent or if it remains closed at OFF.
Check ventilation: Ensure that the area behind the control panel is not blocked, allowing heat to dissipate.

Note: Always transfer wires one by one from the old switch to the new one to avoid miswiring.
