Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the cooktop at the breaker and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes before inspection.
- Ventilation check: Ensure that the ventilation openings under the countertop and in the cabinet are not blocked by drawers, panels, or stored items.
- Clean air paths: Remove dust and grease from intake and exhaust grilles using a vacuum and soft brush.
- Fan operation: Restore power and start a low-power setting. Listen for the internal cooling fan. If it does not run or is very noisy, the fan may be failing.
- Access fan (advanced): With power off, remove the cooktop from the countertop and open the lower cover to access the cooling fan. Check for obstructions and spin the blades by hand.
- Replace fan: If the fan is seized or electrically open, replace the cooling fan assembly. If the fan runs but E1 persists, the temperature sensor on the power module may be faulty, requiring replacement of the induction power module.
Installation note: Follow Kuppersbusch clearance specifications for under-counter space and airflow to prevent recurring overheating.
