Possible Causes
Loose communication cable between touch panel and main board, electrical noise or interference, failed touch control PCB, defective main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the cooktop from mains before lifting it out of the countertop or removing the glass.
- Power cycle: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. If E5 clears and does not return, it may have been a transient glitch.
- Check harness: Remove the glass top (if design allows) to access the touch control PCB and main board. Inspect the flat ribbon or multi-core cable between them.
- Reseat connectors: Carefully unplug and reinsert the connectors, ensuring they are fully seated and not corroded.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the touch PCB, burnt components, or signs of liquid ingress.
- Replace faulty board: If E5 persists, replace the touch control PCB first. If the error remains after that, replace the main control board.
Tip: Ensure the cooktop is properly earthed; poor grounding can increase susceptibility to interference.
