Safety first: Ensure the oven is empty and racks are removed before testing self-clean. Do not bypass safety devices.

• Door lock check: Start a self-clean cycle and listen for the door lock motor. Verify that the door lock indicator shows locked. If not, inspect the door lock assembly and switches.
• Cooling fan: Confirm that the cooling fan runs strongly during the early phase of self-clean.
• Sensor performance: If the oven aborts after heating, the sensor may be reading incorrectly at high temperatures. Replace the oven temperature sensor if previously borderline.
• Control limits: If all hardware is good, the main control may be prematurely terminating the cycle due to internal overheating; ensure proper ventilation and consider control replacement if persistent.

Note: Frequent use of self-clean can stress components; use only when necessary.
