Possible Causes
Open bake element, Open broil element, Tripped thermal cutoff or high-limit thermostat, Failed relay on electronic oven control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before inspecting elements or removing panels. Elements can retain heat for some time.
- Visual check: Inspect the bake and broil elements for visible breaks, blisters, or burn marks.
- Continuity test: Disconnect at least one wire from each element and test for continuity with a multimeter. Replace any open element with the correct La Cornue part.
- Check thermal devices: Access the rear of the oven to locate thermal fuses or high‑limit thermostats. Test for continuity; replace any open devices.
- Control board: If elements and thermal devices are good, the EOC may not be sending power to the elements. A technician should test output and replace the board if necessary.
