Possible Causes
Liquid or grease intrusion into keypad, Damaged touch membrane, Shorted keypad ribbon cable, Faulty control panel assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel. Avoid using sharp tools on the glass or fascia.
- Clean the panel: Wipe the control surface with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not flood the panel with liquid. Dry thoroughly.
- Inspect for damage: Remove the control panel bezel to access the keypad and ribbon cable. Look for cracks, delamination, or signs of liquid ingress.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect the keypad ribbon from the EOC, inspect for corrosion or bent contacts, clean gently, and reconnect firmly.
- Isolate keypad: With power OFF, leave the keypad ribbon disconnected and restore power briefly. If F7 persists, the EOC is faulty; if it clears, the keypad assembly is defective.
- Replace faulty assembly: Replace the keypad/fascia or full control panel assembly as specified for your La Cornue model. Ensure all mounting screws and ground straps are reinstalled.
