Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor, Faulty door lock position switch, Misaligned latch mechanism, Broken wiring in door lock circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. If the door is locked with food inside and the oven is cool, consult the La Cornue manual for emergency door release instructions or contact a technician.
- Inspect latch alignment: Check that the door closes fully and the latch engages smoothly. Adjust hinges or strike plate if the door is sagging.
- Access lock assembly: Remove the top or rear panel to reach the door lock motor and switches. Look for broken linkages or loose mounting screws.
- Test lock motor and switches: With power OFF, test the lock motor coil for continuity and the position switches for proper open/closed states as the latch is moved by hand. Replace the lock assembly if components are defective.
- Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from the lock assembly to the EOC for breaks, especially where it flexes with door movement.
- Reset and test: After repair, restore power and run a self‑clean lock/unlock cycle (or a diagnostic lock test if available) to verify proper operation and that F9 is cleared.
