Gas oven lights but temperature is too low or uneven; food undercooked or overcooked

Safety first: Turn off gas and power before removing burner components. Allow the oven to cool completely.

• Check burner flame: Observe the oven burner while operating. The flame should be blue and even along the burner. Yellow tips or uneven flame indicate blockage or improper air mixture.
• Clean burner ports: Remove the oven bottom panel and burner (if accessible). Use a soft brush or wooden toothpick to clear clogged ports. Do not enlarge the holes.
• Inspect igniter: A weak igniter can cause delayed ignition and poor temperature control. If the igniter glows dull orange or takes more than 30–60 seconds to light the burner, replace it.
• Verify temperature: Place an accurate oven thermometer in the center of the oven and compare readings to the set temperature. If consistently off by more than 10–15°C, use the control's calibration function (if available) or have a technician adjust the thermostat/sensor.
